Dream Police

Assignment Part One:  Suddenly there is a knock at your door.  A trusted friend enters to warn you that the Dream Police will arrive in twenty minutes.  Everything in your life, that you have not written down will evaporate upon their arrival.  You have 20 minutes to preserve what is most precious in your life, what has formed you, what sustains you.

Part two:  Imagine that you are an anthropologist who has unearthed the list of possessions that belonged to some unknown person.  Write a portrait fleshing out that person, speculating on her character and life.

Brandy my horse, my first love Thomas, my soul mate rick, my three children Alex, Courtney, Brannan, foster kids, my life growing up on a hay farm in Isleta, times spent drinking wine with my mom and not fighting,  spaghetti with my grandma, singing love songs when I was in love and Alantis Morriesett when I wasn’t, living on my own, getting my college degree at night while having a full time job, horses that had been saved by us like twiggy, chester, freckles, chubby, Scooby, outlaw, my longest animal living Nala a cat and my dog Ryan, my quest after helping people, my love of God, my love of art and the beauty of the world, my house on love, in Edgewood, Moriarty and Elephant Butte, the death of my grandmother noni, the death of my grandfathers Carl and pop, pop would sing and dance singing poopsa pots, my daughters first love and the pain she felt, missing them when I am old, photos of memories, Pittsburg Steeler parties, nfl night with a beer, my husband kissing me, teaching kids in school, sweets….like pumpkin pie, Pepperridge Farm chocolate cake, gramma lou’s strawberry cake, margarita, art shows, art classes, feeling alone after the divorce, being raped by a stranger, liking to be a tomboy, short stocky gymnast, I love to write, poetry, draw horses, laugh so hard it makes you pee your pants, Kevin, Susie and daisy my brother and his family, always struggling financially, wishing I could help more people, adopt more kids, cook more often, read more books, want to retire and sit at the lake and read a book, surgeries on both ankles and 3 c-sections, art is important for human development and all students need to be creative and expressive, just like those students need to be fit… gymnastics, clean freak, love drives through the mountains by Hillsburrow or the Sandias, vacations in white sands, and Hawaii, fights with rick were I give up and he doesn’t, working hard during my first marriage, torn relationships, it bothers me that people don’t like me, I am on pills for anxiety and they are necessary to stabilize my insides, regrets of Rick’s party, regrets of Alex going away, love watching my daughter play volleyball or Brannan’s love for school, love to read and listen to something spiritual, love to lean on the lord, I liked playing softball, riding horses, wish I had a true girlfriend, want to stay married, want to stay in love, want to do right in the world, material stuff is not important, love is, longing to be loved is hard, teaching someone to love again like Nathan and Braydin is very hard, life is fun but I think heaven will be the bomb!

Dream Police:  Part two

We discovered a paper written about a hundred years ago.  The subject is female and has loved a lot of things in her life.  She loved horses, her lover named Rick , her children Courtney, Brannan and Alex, and music.  She mentions college or education quite a bit and has books all over.  It seems like she liked the farm life and many animals.  Her favorite of the animals was horses.  One of the horses started the list.  His name was Brandy.

     She also had some tragedy in her life.  It seems she was raped, got a divorce, had surgeries, and torn relationships.  Where the torn relationships with her family, friends, animals?

     She definitely had a sweet tooth.  She mentioned pumpkin pie, strawberry and chocolate cake and margaritas.  It looks like she did some drinking as she mentions Pittsburg Steelers parties with beer.  She also mentions that she is a tomboy being short and stocky.  By being short and stocky this aided her, I believe, to take up gymnastics.

     She also likes nature as she mentions the mountains in Albuquerque and nearby Hillsburrow.    She may have gone to vacation at Hawaii and white sands.  Her husband is someone who has stuck by her side.  She mentions wanting to go grow old with him although her love and pain goes with her children leaving her. 

     She mentions her spirituality quite a bit.  She likes to pray and listen to Christian music.  It bothers her that she doesn’t have a close girlfriend.  It seems she may have engrossed herself in her male companions. 

     She mentions art as well.  This must be a career for her maybe.  She mentions students and foster kids.  She wants to show her love through art.  She may have felt a connection between helping others and showing them how to express themselves.
